Micro-Needling Treatments
What is Microneedling?
Micro-needling is a skin treatment in which tiny, fine needles are used to puncture the skin and stimulate collagen production within the body. By causing microscopic zones of injuries on the skin, micro-needling damages only a very small portion of the skin, triggering the skin’s natural healing process and stimulating the creation of new collagen. The healing process works to replace these small wounds with new skin, resulting in a more youthful appearance that is tighter in structure.
How Are Micro-Needling Treatments Performed?
At Verve, we use The Skin Pen II by Bellus Medical to perform micro-needling treatments. The Skin Pen II is a device that looks like a pen and has a cluster of tiny needles at the tip. When applied to the skin, the pen’s tiny needles create microscopic channels in the skin.
How many sessions will I need to see results?
Most clients choose a series of 5 sessions. Some clients will begin to see results in as few as one session.
Why would I choose Skin Pen over more aggressive laser treatments?
Most people choose Skin Pen treatments (micro-needling) because it stimulates the body’s internal repair mechanism. Additionally, Skin Pen treatments don’t require the same amount of recovery time associated with aggressive laser resurfacing or surgery.
