Why is Ultherapy different than other non-surgical cosmetic procedures?
There are so many devices, pills and lotions on the market right now that claim to renew collagen and many of them do in fact do that. Ultherapy is different because it “focuses on collagen” in a most effective way. It focusses on the protein that holds our skin together to provide strength and structure– like a scaffold. Unlike other procedures, it bypasses the surface of the skin to deliver the right amount of ultrasound energy at the right depths and the right temperature. This penetration below the surface of the skin allows the procedure to work better to regenerate the process that produces fresh new collagen.
Is Ultherapy painful?
More recent treatment protocols make the treatment much less painful than in the past, however there may be some discomfort. When the heat is focused on the soft tissues of the face and not the deep bony tissue, the treatment results are much better and very tolerable. More recent precision protocols of the device technology allow for much better precision of depth of treatment – with much less discomfort and ultimately much better results.
