What Is Radiesse®?
Radiesse is an FDA-approved injectable treatment used to correct volume loss on the back of the hands. It helps minimize the appearance of visible tendons and veins by adding support beneath the skin, resulting in smoother, more youthful-looking hands.
Why Do Hands Show Signs of Aging So Quickly?
The skin on our hands is constantly exposed to sun, environmental stress, and daily wear. Over time, the tissue beneath the skin becomes thinner, and we lose the natural support and volume that once concealed underlying structures. As that support fades, veins and tendons become more prominent, making the hands appear older than the face in many cases.
How Does Radiesse® Help with Hand Aging?
Radiesse is approved by the FDA specifically for hand rejuvenation. When injected into the back of the hands by an experienced provider, it restores volume and support beneath the skin. This hand filler treatment smooths out hollows and softens the appearance of veins and tendons, creating a more even, youthful look.
How Does Radiesse® Stimulate Collagen?
In addition to adding volume, Radiesse contains calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres. These microspheres stimulate the body to produce collagen – enhancing skin quality over time and helping results last longer.
How Long Do Radiesse® Results Last in the Hands?
Most patients see immediate improvement after treatment. Results typically last between 12 and 18 months, with collagen-building effects continuing beyond the initial volume restoration.
Is There Downtime After a Hand Filler Treatment?
Very little. Most patients return to normal activity within 24 hours. Mild swelling or bruising is possible but temporary.
Can I See Hand Filler Before and After Photos?
Yes. Reviewing hand filler before and after photos can help you understand what kind of results to expect. Ask your provider to show you examples of patients with similar concerns.
